Josh Dirksen

A legend in the sport, Dirksen has reinvented his career from one of the most progressive freestyle riders in the game filming with Mack Dawg, Kingpin, Robot Food, and the TGR Deeper-Further-Higher trilogy to one of the most soulful freeriders. With two decades on his board, it’s no surprise that his riding style, whether carving huge backside turns, blasting a 34-foot method over a hip, or sailing off natural cornices, is most often referred to as effortless and pure.

The master of the turn has numerous Legendary Banked Slalom wins, magazine covers, and hosts his own banked slalom at his home mountain of Mt. Bachelor. The annual Dirksen Derby, going into its 10th year, is a fundraiser benefit for Tyler Eklund, a local rider who was severely injured in a snowboard accident. Dirksen continues to inspire the next generation of riders with a focus on the essence of the turn, maximizing natural terrain, and sharing the stoke of human-powered ascents and descent with his splitboard. His riding can be experienced in this season’s release of TransWorld SNOWboarding’s Insight.
